Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad

Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is delighted to host the 2020 Science Olympiad (SO), and we cordially invite your team to participate. The Region III Science Olympiad competition is set for Saturday, March 28, 2020*. Teams from around Region III will gather at BPCC in Bossier City, LA, to engage in friendly and fun scientific competition. Winners from this regional competition will advance to the State SO on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.

If you are unfamiliar with the SO, these tournaments are rigorous academic, interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of team events, for which students prepare during the school year. These challenging and motivational events are well-balanced between the scientific disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, and technology.

A workshop for new coaches will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 (for more information, contact the State SO Director Bruce Sherman at: open new browser window or tab)

For questions regarding forming a Science Olympiad team and the challenge events, visit the national SO website (see address below). Coaches should review the Louisiana State SO Regional Competition Policies (see the state website below).

Please forward this letter to any teachers who might enjoy participating. If you would like to participate, please first register as described below. Further information, rules, forms, etc. can be found at the following websites:
