BPCC’s division of Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics has programs accredited by ATMAE (The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering).

ATMAE – The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering
In the fall semester of 2014, ATMAE accreditation for seven Division of Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics programs was formally requested. The necessary documentation was submitted to ATMAE in February 2015. The AAS in Cyber Technology (Network Security and Programmer Analyst concentrations), AAS in Computer Information Systems, AAS in Construction Technology and Management, AAS in Industrial Technology (Engineering Graphics and Automation and Controls concentrations), and AAS in Oil and Gas Production Technology programs were submitted for accreditation review. The ATMAE site visit team reviewed the programs in detail during their visit the week of March 9, 2015. The site visit team recommended “Accreditation with a 2-Year Follow-Up Report” for all seven programs reviewed including Cyber Technology. The ATMAE Board of Accreditation met in November 2015 and awarded accreditation to all seven programs in the TEM Division. The 2-Year Follow-Up Report was presented and approved on November 1st, 2017 at the annual ATMAE hearings.

National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance 2-Year Education
In spring 2012, BPCC TEM Division applied to be a Center of Academic Excellence for two-year colleges. On April 13, 2012, we received notification of our approval! BPCC has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance for 2-Year Education for the 2012-2017 academic years. Moving forward, the Center’s requirements have changed to Knowledge Units; therefore, BPCC has mapped our courses to the new standards. We are now CAE2Y certified till 2021.
Center of Workforce Excellence in Cyber Technology
Bossier Parish Community College is the first Center for Workforce Excellence in Cyber Technology in the state of Louisiana. Act 555 of the 2010 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature authorized the Louisiana Technical Community College System Board of Supervisors, in coordination with the Louisiana Board of Regents, to create Centers of Workforce Excellence that provide customized educational and training programs to meet areas of need as identified by business and industry. With this designation, BPCC continues to advance in information security education, curriculum development, and faculty training.
In 2012, BPCC’s division of Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics became a Cisco Academy. Being an academy provides BPCC access to curriculum, supplies, resources, and support.
Being a CompTIA Academy provides certification discounts, data reports, professional development, marketing resources, and classroom resources.
Committee on National Security Systems
Starting in the fall of 2011, the Cyber Information Technology program in the TEM Division received approval to offer Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) certifications 4011and 4012. Since the initial approval, the Division has met the standards to offer CNSS certifications 4013, 4014, 4015, and 4016.These credentials can be received with the Certificate of Technical Studies in Senior Systems Managers.
Bossier Parish Community College division of Technology Engineering and Mathematics became an EC-Council Academy in spring 2013. This acknowledgment will allow students in the Network Security program to offer courses ending in certifications for EC-Council.
Microsoft IT Academy
Starting in the spring of 2014, BPCC’s division of Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics became a Microsoft Imagine Academy. Being an academy provides BPCC access to Microsoft resources, curriculum, professional development, software, and certification opportunities.
