BPCC THEATRE ANNOUNCES ITS PRODUCTION OF SHAKESPEARE’S A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

The Bossier Parish Community College Theatre Program and the Cavalier Players announce their spring show, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a favorite amongst the famous playwright’s comedies. Though the story has been told countless times – BPCC Theatre’s unique twist on the time honored tale is sure to entertain.

Performances are set for 7:30 pm on April 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, and 2:00 pm on April 7 and 14 in the Stephen W. Slaughter Theatre in Building C on the BPCC campus, 6220 East Texas Street, Bossier City, LA.

Synopsis: Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream tells the tangled love story of Hemia, Lysander, Demetrius and Helena that is further complicated by Oberon and Titania, King and Queen of Fairies, and a group of craftsman rehearsing a play where the lovers have escaped.

Add in the mischievous Puck amidst the fairy scheme and anything is possible – including turning a man into a donkey. In the midst of the chaos, the characters wake up in the forest wishing the night’s events had not taken place. Did the events take place? Or was it all a dream?
