BOSSIER PARISH COMMUNITY COLLEGE NAMED TO 2019-2020 MILITARY FRIENDLY® SCHOOLS LIST

College receives highest distinction of any 2-year or 4-year school in Louisiana

Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is pleased to announce it has earned the 2019-2020 Military Friendly® School designation for the 8th consecutive year. In addition, this year the College has earned the GOLD distinction. BPCC is the ONLY 2-year or 4-year college in Louisiana who earned the gold distinction.

“We are proud to serve our active duty and veteran students as well as their families and we’re extremely honored to be named a Military Friendly® college for the eighth year in a row,” said BPCC Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr. “Being named with a GOLD distinction shows our commitment to our nation’s heroes is serious and on-going.”

First published in 2009 by Viqtory, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobsSM, and Military Spouse, Military Friendly® Schools is the most comprehensive, powerful resource for veterans today. Each year, the list of Military Friendly® Schools is provided to service members and their families, helping them select the best college, university, or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career. This prestigious list provides a comprehensive guide for veterans and their families using data sources from federal agencies and proprietary survey information from participating organizations.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly ® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. This year 766 schools earned this prestigious designation.

The 2019-2020 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine. The list can also be found at www.militaryfriendly.com. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly ® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default Rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

This past November, BPCC opened its Veterans Resource Center which is the first center in north Louisiana established to serve the educational needs of our military men and women and their families.
