Ms. BPCC Pageant Information

The following contains information about the Ms. Bossier Parish Community College Pageant including an outline of pageant activities, the responsibilities and obligations of the reigning Ms. BPCC, and the judges’ scoring criteria for the pageant.

Pageant Outline


Mock Interviews: TBD

Attire:              Business casual

Purpose:         To familiarize the contestants with the professional interview process and with proper interview etiquette

Official Interviews: Thursday, May 12, 2022 | 5:00 p.m. | F-220

Attire:              Corporate/business attire

Purpose:         To introduce the contestants to the judges in a formal one-on-one interview-style setting

Judging:          Each contestant will interview individually for approximately 12 minutes.

Contestants will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas while remaining poised
  • Ability to project confidence and intelligence
  • Ability to interact comfortably with the judges
Rehearsal: Friday, May 13, 2022 | 5:00 p.m. | BPCC Theatre (Approximately 1½ hours)

Attire:              Casual and comfortable (Bring the shoes to be worn in the pageant.)

Purpose:         To familiarize the contestants with all aspects of the Pageant

Pageant: Saturday, May 14, 2022 | 6:00 p.m. | BPCC Theatre (Doors open to the public at 5:00 p.m.)

Part I: Opening Introduction in Casual wear

Attire:              Casual outfit of contestant’s choice

Purpose:         To introduce the contestants to the audience

Judging:          Contestants will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Overall ability to present a positive first impression in both personality and appearance

Part II: Evening Gown and On-Stage Question

Attire:             Formal evening gown

Purpose:         To display style, grace, and beauty while demonstrating
the ability to remain poised in impromptu situations

Judging:         Contestants will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Ability to present a positive impression in style, grace, and beauty
  • Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas while remaining poised
  • Ability to project confidence and intelligence
  • Voice quality

Photography: All contestants must be at the theatre on the day of the pageant no later than 4:00 p.m. dressed in evening gowns for pictures. A professional photographer will be available and will offer photograph packages at reasonable prices for purchase. A proof book will be provided to the Office of Student Life. Contestants will be notified when orders can be placed.


Responsibilities and Obligations

  • Serve as the official student hostess, spokesperson, and ambassador for the college both on campus and in the community
  • Be a role model for other students, as well as display good moral conduct and embody school spirit
  • Display a respectful and positive attitude throughout year of service
  • Assist with all Office of Student Life events and campus-wide events
  • Provide a minimum of 10 hours of community service per fall and spring semesters to be coordinated with the Director or Program Coordinator (Reading to elementary school classes, visiting hospitals/nursing homes, etc.)
  • Attend local high school pageants (Shreveport/Bossier area) and other area pageants as coordinated by the Director or Program Coordinator
  • Present awards/scholarships at area high schools and/or area pageants
  • Attend LCTCS Day(s) in Baton Rouge (if applicable)
  • Attend the annual BPCC/Bossier City Christmas program
  • Attend a minimum of 3 athletic events per year (Baseball, basketball, softball, cross-country)
  • Join at least one student organization on campus
  • Meet with the Director or Program Coordinator twice monthly to coordinate appearances
  • Mentor the upcoming Ms. BPCC by attending interest meetings, mock interviews, pageant interviews, pageant rehearsal, and the pageant
  • Prepare a farewell speech and slideshow for pageant at end of reign (Resources provided)
  • Assist with the onstage portion of the Miss Tiny Cavalier pageant as well as mentor the winner as a sister queen throughout the year
  • Additional duties as needed or requested by the college

Changes or additions to event appearances/participation will be made at the discretion of the Director or Program Coordinator of Student Life.
