Changing Your Windows Password

Log onto your computer

Log On to Windows dialog box

If you are not prompted to change your password, but wish to change it:

  1. Hold down the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys simultaneously.
  2. Click “Change Password” in the dialog box.Windows Security dialog box
  3. Type your network username in the User name box.
    Enter your current password in the Old Password box.
    Enter your new password in both the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes then click “OK”.NOTE: BPCC employee passwords will be required to be 8 or more characters and have any 3 of the 4 components:

    • Uppercase letters
    • Lowercase letters
    • Numbers
    • Symbols

    Passwords will still not be allowed to repeat or contain your username, first or last name, etc

  4. You will see a dialog box confirming that your password has been changed.  Click “OK” to complete the process.Password changed confirmed dialog box
