ARPA: HEERF III – Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

The College distributed $4,474,920 of the grant award to students.  This equals roughly 50% of the entire student grant award. As of September 17, 2021, the College has awarded and disbursed in emergency financial aid grants to 5,096 students.

The following criteria were used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under ARPA.

Students with active enrollment in a Title IV eligible program in the fall 2021 semester, who filed a FASFA, and who are eligible to receive Title IV funds (according to Section 484 of the HEA) within the fall 2021 payment period, excluding: prisoners; cross-enrolled students who “home institution” is a non-LCTCS college; employees who are students; and dual enrollment students.  A sliding scale was used to determine award amounts.  The scale considered a student’s EFC score and credit hours.  The lowest award was $500 and the largest award was $1,020.

A list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) was provided to students via email along with instructions on how to access the funds via BankMobile.  Additionally, BankMobile sends out an automatically generated email informing students that their funds are available.
