Some courses may require proctored exams either at an approved testing center or through an online proctoring service. BPCC provides free onsite proctoring. The student is responsible for any fees associated with an online proctoring service or another testing center.

PURGE DATES

SCHEDULE CHANGES:

Schedule changes, such as adding or dropping classes, can affect more than your class schedule. Keep these things in mind:

• Adding a class will include tuition and fees. If you drop a class, you may still owe tuition and fees depending on the date. (See refund information.)
• If you receive financial aid, your award amounts may change. This includes money already disbursed or refunded.
• Adding or dropping classes may affect your degree progress, especially if the courses are required for your program.

Plan carefully. If you have questions, contact BPCC Advising, Financial Aid, or the Business Office for guidance.

Students must begin attendance in ALL classes. Federal financial aid will be adjusted if a student does not begin attendance in ALL classes. If a student’s financial aid is disbursed to the student account and he/she never attends one or more classes, the student will be responsible for immediate REPAYMENT of a portion or perhaps the FULL amount of the financial aid.

Additionally, if a financial aid recipient begins attendance in class, but resigns or stops attending all classes before completing more than 60% of the semester, he/she will owe money to the aid program and BPCC.

REFUND SCHEDULE FOR DROPPING CLASSES & BPCC BOOK PASS OPT OUT PERIODS:

Refunds are issued at a rate of 100% during the applicable refund period, which is different for each session.  Please refer to your class schedule and confirm the session of your class before deciding to drop a class, so that you can make an informed financial decision.  Classes that are dropped AFTER this period are not eligible for any refund whatsoever.

The BPCC Book Pass program allows students to receive the electronic and printed book materials for their classes each semester, all for one convenient fee added to your student account.  Each semester, all students are automatically enrolled in BPCC Book Pass, but have the option to opt-out if they wish.  Opting out means the student will not participate in BPCC Book Pass for the entire semester.  Students must opt-out during the appropriate opt-out timeframe according to their EARLIEST start date of classes in the semester.  The end of each opt-out period is listed below.

This refund schedule is separate and apart from and should not be confused with the academic drop schedule, Financial Aid refunds, or for those students not beginning attendance in classes (No Show period).  Please refer to those calendars, also on this webpage, for additional information.

SHOW/NO SHOW:

Students must begin attendance in their classes at the official start date of each Session. Students who do not officially withdraw or resign in accordance with the published start date of the Class Session will be considered as a “No Show.” Students who are considered a “No Show” will have 100% of the tuition and fees removed from their student account and for each course, the student will be reported as “No Show” in that class.
